How long have you been doing photography?
I’ve been doing photography in some part since high school, and in the industry after I graduated from RIT with a photo degree. It’s been a long road—very rewarding, but very challenging.
What pays the bills?
Your best tool in this business, no matter what type of photography you do, is networking. Everything else is built on top of your network.
Any advice for upcoming photographers?
As an emerging photographer, I’d encourage you to check out ASMP Oregon (www.asmporegon.org), our chapter of ASMP National (www.asmp.org) — by joining you get access to a lot of great information, discounts and a national community of photographers—plus this trade group is doing great work on the behalf of all photographers. I know there’s a meetup happening on 3/16 at Basecamp Brewing.
