Social Media Analysis - Maysee

Image result for brandy nichols photos photography

Brandy Nichols is a wedding and lifestyle photographer based in Oregon. Her work focuses on capturing real authenticity; the love, the happiness, the laughter and imperfect emotions. Nichols content is warm, lively, candid, and very intimate. She uses and post her work on Instagram and Facebook with following updates. I think she has a decent amount of followers on both social media accounts, however, she has more followers on Instagram. On her Facebook page, it says 5 out of 5 based on opinion of 110 people likes her work and 50 recommended.

Here are some of her most recent work this year.

Nichols is posting to promote her work out there, how much she enjoys capturing couple's sessions. I think Nichols is doing a great job with her recent work. She posts on here and there. I do have to say I'm not a fan of her web page. She has too many photos of the same shoot.

Social Media Analysis-Bethy Fallgren

www.treefortlifestyles.com

When thinking of a creative professional that effectively promotes their company online I instantly thought of the local company from up where I live near Mount Hood, Treefort Lifestyles. They provide durable, American made products for people with an active lifestyle and appreciation for the smaller things in life.
They make and sell wallets, hats, camera straps, suspenders, beer cozies, keychains and even car fresheners. Treefort Lifestyles shows interaction with their products and people experiencing the outdoors and traveling, with photography, video and news articles.
Treefort Lifestyles posts on several media platforms including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Tumbler, Vimeo, and RSS. They post photos and video of the outdoors and relationships with their products to show us an "elevated" way of life, and of course tree forts themselves.
They are effective with their efforts in bringing in several followers and consistently covering a wide array of  social media-it can't help but get their company noticed.

Sarah Lynn is a Portland based wedding photographer. She also photographs families, maternity, newborn, and engagements. On her social media and website its clear what type of photography she does because its very organized with her work. She is posting on her Instagram and her Facebook pages.

She is posting so that she can further promote her work to people. She gets a lot of clients by word of mouth and I think that this just helps it along a little bit. I think that she's doing a good job promoting herself.
Her website is https://www.sarahlynnphotographypdx.com/. You can also find her on Instagram and Facebook. Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sarahlynnphotographypdx/. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/photographybysarahlynn/

I chose to do my Social Media Analysis on Youtuber/comedian Brandon Rogers. He started making videos and gaining popularity on social media sites such as Youtube and Vine between 2006-2010. He is currently still making content, mostly focusing on comedic sketches featuring shock humor. His Youtube channel currently has 4.8 million subscribers. Other than his Youtube channel, Brandon Rogers also posts on Instagram with behind the scenes and updates on videos. His Instagram account has 847k followers, and his Twitter that features similar content has 53.5k followers. He also recently started a Podcast titled, "Deep Balls with Brandon Rogers," that is on its 22nd episode. Like most people, I feel that he posts his videos because he loves creating content. Being a comedian, Youtuber, entertainer, is his career and it seems that he has had a good deal of success with it. He does this work full time, as well as having guest appearances with other creatives.

Petra Collins is an artist and curator living in New York. Collins has done multiple editorials and covers for publications such as Interview, I-D, Glamour, and Vogue China. She also works on personal art projects as well as makes music videos for artists like Cardi-B, Selena Gomez, and Lil Yachty. Collins works almost exclusively on film for her photography and video projects, and is known for her dreamy and fashion forward style.

Collins posts work from her recent shoots, covers, and her personal artwork. Sometimes she will post a scan showing multiple frames from one shoot, videos of her working, or photos of herself that others have taken.

Collins posts on Instagram daily and Twitter every once in a while. They have 819k followers on Instagram, and 34.7k on Twitter. They also have work on the tumblr, although it is less formal.

Collins appears to post to promote their work and share what their latest projects are. Their twitter shows off more of their personality, with retweets showcasing their work posted by others. On Instagram, they connect with their audience and show their artwork off.

I think Collins is doing a great job at using social media effectively. They consistently post new work, which excites their audience and drives others to want to work with them. They are also young, educated, and an outspoken activists, and they use social media to relate to others and connect over art.

You can find Petra Collins online at http://www.petracollins.com/, on Instagram at instagram.com/petracollins, and on Twitter at twitter.com/petracollins

Peter Yan is photographer but also he combined his photography and globe-trotting together into a professional career. He photographs mostly landscapes, and do aerial photography. Yan is best known for his unique style and creative use of colors. Yan travels around the world and captures the beauty of nature and landscapes.

Yan is posting on Instagram, Facebook, and his website. He mostly uses Instagram and Facebook but has more followers on Instagram. He does a nice job by posting daily with his 114k followers on Instagram and his 4,653 followers on Facebook.

I believe Yan posts his work so his followers or others can check out his website, which is in his bio. On his website he sells prints and also people who like his creative use of colors can buy the package on lightroom. Also so they can follow his journey around the world.

I honestly think Yan is doing a good job with posting and showing the world his work Not only are people seeing his work on social media, but his work is also shown in galleries.

Social Media Analysis - Bri Johnson

Who are they?
Andie Averie is a photographer based in Oregon who also photographs in areas
such as Arizona, California and Hawaii.

• What do they do?
She focuses on capturing couples whether it be weddings, elopements, general
couple sessions, boudoir or maternity sessions
• What content are they providing?
Averie posts lots of Images from her photo shoots as well as personal images of her and
her husband to add a personal touch to her account.

• Where are they posting? Which social media platform(s)?
She primarily posts on Instagram but also uploads many of her galleries to Facebook as
well. She probably posts more to Instagram because that’s where the majority of people
interact with her and she tends to capture younger couples who are more likely to use
Instagram over Facebook.

• Why do you feel they are posting?
I think she posts images to share her work with clients and potential clients, but her captions
are more geared toward telling about how much she enjoyed a session or talking about
things in her personal life to connect with potential clients.

• How effective do you feel their efforts are?

I think her sharing her life with her clients is helping her business as those posts seem to get
the most attention because people want to know about the person they’re hiring. In general
she seems to have quite a few followers compared to other wedding photographers I’ve seen
(about 15,000) and quite a bit of interaction on her posts with around 400 likes per post and
about 20 comments.

  4. His main social media platforms are: Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter and Youtube.

  • Who are they?
Mind Palace studio is a photography/video studio in LA operated by a husband and wife duo, also joined by an LA musician who works as their prop master.
  • What do they do?
Their main clientele is musicians in the LA area. They mostly do band portraits, album art, and music videos.

  • What content are they providing?

They post all of their finished work they create, as well as many behind the scenes photos
and videos. Their photographer also posts a lot of their content on her personal/freelance
photography Instagram to drive more business and flowers towards the studio.

  • Where are they posting?

Their only social media platform right now is Instagram (they are a fairly new studio so they
might use other platforms later on). They also have a website with a gallery and selected
commissioned works.

  • Why do you feel they are posting?
From what I can tell, their main source of commissions come from Instagram and word of
mouth. This studio has a very specific range of clientele, and most of them are connected
in the same music and art scene in LA. The studio photographer, Alice Baxley, is also a fairly
large freelance music photographer with a large Instagram following, so most likely people
who follow her will see her posting about the studio and then follow/contact the studio from
there.

  • How effective do you feel their efforts are?

I personally find their posts intriguing, and if I lived in LA I would definitely want to work with
them. They know their market and make posts targeted towards them. Their Instagram has
a very easy going, fun feel to it. By showing a lot of behind the scenes work, it shows their
personalities and what it would be like to work with them.

Of all of the social media accounts I follow, the one that stands out to me the most is Haru Casting (@harucasting on Instagram). I don't believe they have an "official" website, just the one from Weebly, but I don't think it really matters all that much.

Who are they- Critical Role-
• What do they do- Critical role is a  veteran cast of professional voice actors and real life friends who once a week play a table  top role playing game called Dungeons and Dragons and stream it once a week every Thursday. This group has grown into something thats a akin to a professional business and does look like its stopping in the few years its been around.

• What content are they providing: right now their primary shows is their table top role playing which is on Season two and 51 episodes in (first season was 115 episodes ) and Talks Machina which is a interview shows about interviews selective cast members on each episode on the their role playing games.

• Where are they posting? Which social media platform(s)? Facebook and twitter is their primary sites, and each cast members uses their own social media accounts to interact with fans and as a result this Critical role has snow balled from something small to something fairly big streaming show.

• Why do you feel they are posting? The short answer is they are making a community about table to top role playing games that is safe, sound and most of all a place for “nerds to have fun”quote from the leader Matt Mercer.

• How effective do you feel their efforts are? Very almost every modern nerd in most games shops have heard of Critical role in some form or another, I would go out on a limb and say they are a comon name in most game shops.
