Social Media Analysis - Stephanie Backlund

Danielle Nichole is a coordinator, planner, photographer located in Portland. She plans events and can also photograph them. She also plans styled shoots for other photographers, which is how I heard of her. She provides content on her facebook and instagram that aligns with her work. Most of her content is posted on these platforms. She recently set up her new business, so some of her more personal accounts have more personal content, including selfies. I wish she would comb through her accounts, but she might also wait until she has more content. I feel they are posting well. They comment and talk to other people on their accounts. I've talked to her on other groups in Facebook. I think she posts to get herself out there more, connect with others so that she can help others grow and so she can offer her services to more people. I think her efforts are effective, though I wish she would post less text, but I understand why she does.

Social Media Analysis- Stephen Laurer

For my post I decided to go with photographer and videographer Alex Strohl. He focuses a lot on filming and photographing nature, animals, landscapes, and some architecture.
He produces many visually appealing photographs as well as cool vlogs/travel videos and tutorial videos on tips to photography. He posts mainly on his Instagram account where he has obtained a following over 1 million people. Most of his videos are posted to youtube and his purchasable tutorial packages on his website. I feel he posts a lot of content, specifically on Instagram, to spread his work and gain even more popularity. His efforts seem to be successful with his large Instagram fan base as well as the thousands of views his videos on youtube get.

Social Media Analysis- Sazhil Lopez

I love this photographer, her name is Haley Graham. She is a portrait photographer and I just love her work. She does senior pictures, family portraits, and friends. Haley uses Instagram a lot as her main social media target, facebook and her website second. She posts her work every day up to 2-3 pictures, she interacts with her clients and responds really quick to all her comments and messages. Also, she uses the Instagram story to send out good vibes to everyone giving out tips for those new photographers out there and posting important calendar dates. She shoots for urban outfitters and Forever 21, she tags and comments to those brands on social media for others to see how big it is for her to be shooting for them. She also does giveaway sessions and contests for people to get a chance to win free photo sessions with her, and does shoutouts for other photographers to take a look at their work too.

Social Media Analysis - Phi Cox

This is Leanne Longacre, she is a photographer from Spokane Valley, Washington. She focuses her work on cosplay photography, however, she also does portraits, wedding/couples, animal, and some landscape/interior photography. She uses Facebook, Instagram, and her own website, to display and publish her work. Although she is from Spokane Valley, she travels a lot between the East and West coasts for her photography business. She posts her work regularly, which is a couple times a month but most active during months when there is a convention that she is traveling to. She also posts a lot about herself, more so on her personal Instagram account, and I feel that that lets her clients get to know more about who she is before they decide to book her.

Craig Dyer is a Photographer based out of Portland who has been in the business for the last 18 years.      He does weddings, sports, studio work, senior and family portraits, runs a blog, and various other things.  He uses a website, facebook, Instagram, (an instagram for his pet dog,) and twitter.

He seems to be posting to not only advertise his business, but to give a glimpse into his life.  When you go to his social media accounts, you see photos of his work, his family, his pets, and his own thoughts and interests.  I think he's doing an exceptional job because he is showing his clients that he is a actual human with a family and that he's doing exciting things and is very personable.  It makes hiring him seem like a no brainer.

Social Media Analysis - Andrea Ahlson

Linda Lomelino is predominantly located in the south of Sweden. The website portfolio showcasing her styling and photography skills are linked below.

She is a food photographer, stylist, recipe developer, in addition to being the author of four cook books, and an active blogger who shares her story frequently!

Linda specializes in baking, and loves creating new recipes, which she then shares with her many social media followers. She is also interested in collaboration/consultation with businesses who would benefit from a professional’s skills to produce content for Instagram and their own blog posts.

Linda smerges photography techniques and recipes that are exciting, to capture not only your eye, but your curiosity as well, such as the candle smoke in the cinemagraph above. She also uses her talents to interact with her followers. This example really caught my attention, I am astounded by the beauty of the way she captured this pie! From content to composition this image is engaged and engaging from start to Finnish. (LoL)

She is posting on many social media sites, although she primarily uses Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest; Linda’s Facebook business page has 56,681 likes, and 56,043 followers, on her Instagram she has 2,998 posts, and 770,000 followers, and even her Pinterest account has 28,301 followers! Her accounts reflect her personal style and include more than just baking. I believe that she is doing well since making this her full-time job in 2006!

Social Media Analysis - Ben Carscallen

Cassie is a photographer that is based out of Mcminnville, OR. She does lifestyle, portrait, and engagement shoots. Where she posts her work is to her website, Facebook, and Instagram. She's posting on social media just like any other photographer, because she wants her work to be seen and shared. After that, people who she has taken photos for will repost them, and their friends will see them which will gather more business. I think she does a good job at drumming up business since she is always updating people on what mini shoots she might be doing, deals, or how to get in touch to setup a photoshoot. Along with making it easy for people to sign up.

Social Media Analysis- Svetlana Krivolenkov

This is a Oregon wedding photographer named Dina Chmut.
I like how she uses Facebook to show her work but also connects with other communities. She has her Instagram attached to her Facebook and shows her wedding photos. Not only does she show her work but other communities connect with her by tagging her in post like the Oregon Bride, styled shoots and venues that us her photos.
Although she is based in Portland OR, she targets brides in other states and countries. In order to get a diverse clientele, she tags her work in different states and at unique venues. She also uses LOTS of hash tags!
She also posts links to slideshows to show her work! They are simple yet effective.
Currently she has 11,057 followers!

Phi Cox - Meme Post

Snickers Meme

The snickers meme originates from the "You're Not You When You're Hungry" ad campaign that Snickers did in 2010 for Super Bowl XLIV. It features Betty White as Mike playing football with a group of guys and getting tackled due to lack of "not being herself". A girl from the sidelines walks over and tells her to eat snickers, she asks why to which they reply and they ask her if she's better. Now, we see Mike and he answers "better".

I think that this grew in popularity due to one, how iconic Betty White is, and two, how popular Snickers grew after this ad campaign.

My own version of this meme:

In finding a brand that uses memes, I went with Snickers themselves. Snickers created a meme generator where people can upload there own pictures in a premade meme template.

This was very effective for them as a brand, because it got the Millenium generation to connect with their brand and help promote their business.
