Meme Post - Hannah Ammons

The Kermit meme gained popularity because it's creating memes based off of inner thoughts everyone thinks but doesn't say out loud. The meme originated from twitter when one of the users tweeted: “me: sees a fluffy dog / me to me: steal him” (shown below). Within 10 days, the tweet gained over 31,800 likes and 22,500 retweets. Evil kermit spread like wildfire across every social media platform for months.

I believe this originated because Oreo and lays began having contests for the best top flavors and once social media caught wind, everyone began creating memes based off of weird flavors including a redneck tobacco, basic bitch, bacon creme, fried chicken, Taco Bell, ramen and more. It connects with costumers by involving them by winning prizes and giving them a creative approach to enjoy their favorite cookie.
