Evil Mo**** F***ing Kermit

This is the video that started it all. This video is from The Muppets Most Wanted. The movie came out in 2014 and two years later a screenshot was the starting point of a new baby meme. The legend to come up with this meme goes by the Twitter username of: @aaannnnyyyyaaaa.

On November 6th, 2016, this meme was used for the first time and from there on, this meme spread like wildfire.

This was my version of the meme.

Conspiracy Keanu Meme

Conspiracy Keanu

The 'Conspiracy Keanu' meme is a screen grab from a 1989 movie in which Keanu Reeves is being chased by medieval knights. The movie was called Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. In 2008 a Vulture Blog published a slideshow comprised of many reaction shots of Keanu from various films. The 22nd slide featured the above picture...

It gained popularity through forums mainly as a reaction shot to something absurd. Then a reddit user popularized the conspiracy aspect of it by creating the below meme...

And thus the 'Conspiracy Keanu' meme was born...

And quickly, derivative works followed...

And without further adieu, I present, a Crichton Original of the Conspiracy Keanu:

"I know that feel, bro." - Emily Ulsh

Do you ever hear a story that brings back memories, and sympathize with that feeling? If you answered yes, then you know that feel, bro. This meme was born in 2010. This meme is also referred to "feels" or "That feel when" (TFW). This bald, expressionless head and torso was created by "Voyack".  Reddit says "Feels is a term that is used when dealing with situations that evoke extreme emotions such as sadness, shock or anger.".

This meme gained popularity over the course of some time through many different forums, including international ones in Italy and Russia. 4chan and Reddit eventually got the "feels" on their hands and about a year later. Since then, it has spread to Tumblr, IGN and its very own Facebook page.

This meme doesn't strictly stay colored inside the lines of just "I know that feel" or "The feels" but as well as plastering the bald man and straight face on bodies of appropriate photos. Simply just using the word "Feel" you are implementing or representing this meme in some way.

I like this meme because it's so simple, and the one word "feel" is iconic and a staple for this black-outlined face. I only use it ironically.

Here are some examples:

My version of the meme:

Meme

Origin

The face comes from the DC Comics animated film Superman/Batman: Apocalypse that was released in 2010. It can be seen in the following clip where Superman introduces his cousin to Batman

Handsome Face is an exploitable cartoon character based on a still-shot of an effeminate-looking Superman.

Superman is 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 225 pounds. His hair is jet black, with a natural curl in front, and he has blue eyes. He has a rugged bodybuilder’s physique and a square “hero’s jaw” that gives him a noble physique. He has the qualities of a perfect male figure yet in this drawing of him he looks pretty feminine. Easy to make fun of. then people took it to the next level and made Juggalo and barney characters out of it. Because why not. Here is mine.

Memes, What is it? Linda Glocke / I Will Destroy ISIS

On January 21st Linda Glocke made a post on a news article "Islamic State Group Threatens to Kill 2 Japanese Hostages"

Because the image wasn't blurred well enough, people very, very quickly figured out the actual name. It began to spread when it was posted to Reddit, then gained traction through Imgur. After many photoshops of Linda getting prepared to Destroy ISIS:
I think it spread because its just an ordinary woman claiming by herself that she will destroy ISIS. And in addition to her name, it just added to the comedy. And because her face was there, it made it easier to copy and paste her on a meme.
My personal example (I went all out and made this in After Effects)

Dank Memes: Harold

Hide the Pain Harold is a Hungarian man whose stock photos have been turned into memes. The meme started out on facepunch in the early 2010s and the meme continues to see use in internet warfare to this day. A well weathered meme, this meme has been used and used again, but it still retains some level of consistent use. On the first google of this image you will find many lackluster and just flat out stale memes, but if you find yourself on the wrong side of the internet you might run into some shady guy or two with a handful of some fire Harold memes. This meme is frequently used as a reaction image on message boards, better known as argument simulators to the average daywalker. If you do manage to find some dank Harold compositions you'd be smart to heed caution at the opportunity to save the image. Three little thirds of individuals who go about saving unregulated memes may find themselves under persecution by the internet police. Prison sentences are 5 years minimum with the average sentence being 25 to life.

Here's some of that good old fashioned homebrew

Meme Post - GordonRamsey Critiques Food

Ramsey is one of the best chef in the world. Ramsey sometimes sound mean just to make the cooking context interesting. Ramsey has been able to convince me that English food can be interesting. You don't have to like it but just listen and watch. This is breakfast gone wrong or i might say this is one of those "hell breakfast" Ramsey might call it.
I am from former British colony and i know what it really means when an English man says"hell kitchen".  The bugger is really dry and uneatable i may say. I wonder what Chef Ramsey said about the bugger the main dish of the day. I love the way the food is presented in the plate. Although the food is burnt the presentation is perfect and wonderful to me not Chef Ramsey.
I love breakfast because i went to Catholic elementary school and this used to be one of my best dish served in the morning by the Nuns. This is the only dish we used to share with the Nuns in the same dinning room.

HELL BREAKFAST BY CHEF RAMSEY.  I WAS THERE HAHAHAHA.

Who's a Good Boy?

To every dog, there is one question and one question only. "Who's a good boy?" Pictures of dogs with captions regarding how good they are have exploded in recent memory. This meme has seemingly popped up around October of 2016 although google trends shows the term "good boy" spiking in 2014.

I've become a fan of this meme because of its innocence. Basically adding dialogue to animals is my thing, it's greattt. Many of my coworkers refer to me as a "Good boy" because well, I am one. And it hurts when someone tries to say that I'm not. Im so proud of my nickname that my Twitter bio even claims that I am a "certified good boy".
This viral photo was of a persons dog before and after being told that they are a "good boy"

Memes...evil kermit.

The Evil Kermit meme came from a frame from a scene in Muppets Most Wanted movie back in 2014 of Kermit evil twin attacks him and slaps a mole on him to look like the evil twin. Someone on twitter made the first one with this...

And thus the meme was born and we got gold like these...

Here...I made one...

Hi! My name is Jake Enemark, I live in Portland, Oregon, and go to school at Mt. Hood Community College. I'm currently enrolled in the Integrated Media: Video program and I'm learning a ton. It was just last year when I was very nervous about my future. I knew that I wanted to be a filmmaker, but I had no idea on how to get started. Even worse, what job I wanted in the field. It hasn't been until now that I've really absorbed the teachings of my professors and feel good in the direction I'm going in as a producer and screen writer. I'm super excited and going in optimistic and motivated.

About_SierraFreeman

Hey, my name is Sierra Freeman, I am 19 years old, and I am a student at Mt Hood Community College hoping to work in the film industry in some way. I think it would be fun to become a director or editor. I enjoy working filming, creating sound effects for films, and editing. Other hobbies include soccer, working, hanging out with friends, and being with my family. I think that all of those hobbies work together to explain my style of filmmaking, and i hope to make something someday that reflects that.

The Daniels first grabbed my attention back in 2011 with their Dog Boarding Video on Vimeo. Since then they have done work with all sorts of big name bands and brands, and even in 2016 released their first feature which won best narrative at Sundance. The duo is known for their whacky and unique techniques used to tell a story about the human condition.

"Inspiring Directors" By Craig Doby

Blog_Director

Mr. Boomtown extremely talented and highly sought-after film director has arrived on the entertainment scene and is looking forward to evoking an explosion of raw talent within the film and music industries. Im inspired by how the bass of the beat effects distorts the video. He has collaborated with a lot of famous music artists such as Gucci Mane and Rick Ross. His videos tend to tell hood dramatic stories that are usually easy to follow.

Blogger Profile - Megan Hayes

Hey, so I'm Megan Hayes (duh), I'm 19 years old, and I hope to someday to become a director/producer/editor.

My favorite director is Tim Burton. I haven't seen all of his movies quite yet, but I love his style and his work so much. It's always intrigued me and I always get really excited to see whatever it is he's making. It's also awesome because one of my favorite actors is almost always in all of his films. Tim Burton makes so many cool movies and I love every bit of them.

I like his website a lot, but I wish it had more about his films rather than his artwork (which is really cool to look at). It's super interactive, but if you don't have a lot of time then it's kind of a waste. But I think it's a cool concept and it's totally in his style too (and not just because his art is all over the website).

I really enjoyed this video and I like the editing on with the people swimming inside the walls, floor, and ceiling. I like how simply complex it was. This video made me want to try this effect in one of my own videos.

I really like how this group of guys makes something so simple work so well. To me it's impressive because simple is visually pleasing and to be able to do that well is great to me.

Something something editor, something something student, something something videographer.

I am a Videographer and editor based in the Portland area. Working toward a video production degree at Mount Hood Community College. Also a great grip and working on acting. Working on refining my style of screenwriting.
I tend to start way to many projects and wind up completing one or two. Id say I have about 90% unfinished motion graphics, after effects projects, video projects sitting in my hard drive just waiting for me to do something with them.

Long story short: I'm a pretty swell guy, take a look at my swell projects.

Director: Greg Barth

Greg Barth has very simple taste, from the looks of his Vimeo videos. He's directed music videos for well-known artists and bands such as "Passion Pit" and "Red Axes". The look he seems to go for is pretty clean looking sets with obvious props, loud colors and actors dressed in costumes. The thing I like the most is the simplicity and the randomness of the videos. For most of the shots, they usually have a solid colored background. I can't stress it enough when I say it just looks so SIMPLE but I like it. Just utilizing a smaller sound stage, you can turn it into different things and get pretty creative. Check his stuff out.

About Emily Ulsh ~

Hey.

I'm a 21-year-old student, daughter, sister, cinema worker and self-proclaimed "comedian" named Emily. For about ten years of my life (and counting), I've been engrossed by videos, film, and all things camera related; I don't really know how I got into it, but I sure do know why I keep doing it. From the idea that pops into my brain, to actually having it be a visual, finished piece & everything in-between is so entertaining and interesting to me. It's SO cool to know that looking at something I've made exists, simply because I exist. Anyway, thanks for reading.

Director: Dave Meyers

There were a lot of things to talk about in the 'Humble' Music video directed by, Dave Meyers. From the cinematography to the editing. It was all around a great video. There were a lot of things in this one video. The first scene where Kendrick is dressed as the pope was a great opening image. The light coming down from the window made Kendrick pop especially once he started rapping. Another scene that I really liked, was the scene with all the bald extras and Kendrick in the middle. I loved the lighting that back dropped on their head. The last supper scene had a great moment when it looked like the video was glitching. Lastly, the last scene had great camera movements that I haven't figured out how they did. It looked like it was in some type of rig that allowed those type of movements. Here are two of his music videos that he has directed.

Director/ Editor: Ryan Moss and Director/ Editor: Jake Manhaffy

Thought this was worth checking out/ sharing.
Really liked his surfing video feat. Lemon Pepper. Well put together, good flow, loved the intro with the commentary. Content was good but repetitive, but the editing and visual effects with the slow-mo kicked up another notch with good sound mixing as well over all inspired me to wanna make good quality movies like this one.

Also thought Jake Manhaffy's "...the End of Chivalry was pretty clever and funny with the art style, build up, and punchline and his movie. I enjoyed the editing and sound design as well and thought it was also worth sharing.

Director: Anis Ali

Anis Ali is a very amateur cinematographer and photographer, I find cinematographers like this somewhat inspiring because of the simplicity of the video. while the video may be simplistic it it still interesting to watch and I find the fact that I have most or all the equipment they used to film encouraging for me to start me own body of work I don't explicitly love the music or the people hes working with but I stumbled up this music video and thought it was at least somewhat well shot for the production value.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/amU8ZugZiSM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I looked at his portfolio and he did coverage of a tour for a really bad uk rapper but it was shot pretty well.

Blogger Profile: Andy Carothers

My name is Andy Carothers, I started off as a small time video filmmaker but now I'm the best there is. If you need a video made you come to me and you ask me if I can make a video for you and I'll respond yes I can make you a video and a video will be made. I spend a lot of my free time editing and creating small video shorts composed of silent footage showing the daily lives of the average person walking in the city of Portland. On a more professional level I have many business connections, as well as clients and references. I spend a lot of money on camera equipment instead of actually learning how to use the camera to even out my skill level. I smear chap stick on my lenses to ensure that I have a signature look to all of my cinematography. The chapstick provides a rich texture and forces light to diffuse in very unique ways, while some people complain that overuse may actually increase camera chappedness. I've worked on a lot of film sets and am in the know when it comes to secret movie stuff. If youre looking for a producer that can record you on a  camera and send you a flashdrive with the video on it in the mail, then I'm your guy. If you're still reading this please ask yourself why. I spend a huge amount of time ensuring that each and every video I produce comes up to a certain standard. I consider myself a young Steve Bannon and hope to one day produce masterpieces as great as him. I'm looking to get into the field of animation as well as motion graphics so I can recreate the scene from Jurassic Park where the dinosaur is eating the guy in technicolor frame by frame drawings. If you look up cool guy in the dictionary you'll see a sketch of this face but with sunglasses on.

Director: Edgar Wright

Edgar Wright is a comedy director known for Shaun of the Dead, Hot fuzz, Ant Man, Scott Pilgrim, and a lot more films. I really enjoy his style of visual comedy because it is something that I personally would very much enjoy learning in film. His website is also very nice, it displays his work and gives a great description of him at the bottom of the page.

This is something I enjoy a whole lot; how he has a ongoing fence jumping joke in his films.

I also really enjoy his use of sound in transitions, its a way of transitioning that's not at all boring and is very interesting visually and auditory.

director ray tintori

I remeber running across one of ray tintori's short films years ago called death to the tinman, i dont remeber how i found it or what the whole plot was but the feeling i got from watching it stuck with me, its such a stylish, and dark film thats strange but hard to look away from. with the music, acting, and framing it my seem like a quirky wes anderson film but theres this dark and forbaying tone and feel through out with not only the story line by with the high contrast black and white it really give it an gothic tone

Director - Miles Jay

I discovered Miles Jay through the Leon Bridges River music video. River is one of my favorite songs recently and once I stumbled upon the video I liked it even more. I like the texture and color that is present in all of Jay's work. The two videos below are great examples of that.

I like the use of colors that he uses, he also creates cute images and mixes them with blood and horror images. I like the subject matter he uses to tell a story like, vikings, skulls, needles blood, sharks, demons and monsters, chicks/babes, hero's and villains. The transitions he uses are good. The stories are fun and easy to follow. Can't beat comic books coming to life.
