Ancient Aliens
The screen capture which is now a popular meme was from the History Channel show Ancient Aliens. The specific show which Giorgio A.Tsoukalos is famous for aired April 20th, 2010. Although Tsoukalos has been concluded in every episode that unexplainable happenings are due to alien assistance in some way. Therefore, since this has been always his answer, someone decided to make it more humorous instead of scientific.
The meme made its first appearance on 4chan on the "random" board in early November 2010 and spread like wildfire to other social medias. However, it didn't reach its peak in world wide popularity until January 2012. All the different versions of the meme were essentially the same, in which all answers pointed towards aliens no matter what the subject was.
